About Joshua

Leadership, strong values, and hard work are the core beliefs of my family. Through my life experiences, I developed a strong sense of duty to my family and community. I put these traits to use by moving to Coral Springs in 2011 to help raise my sister while my single mother served in the United States Navy. I became my sister’s legal guardian at the age of 22 until she went off to college in New York in 2015.

While raising my sister I earned my Bachelors of Art in Political Science from FAU and gained my Masters in Psychology. I have worked as a mental health therapist and now I am a proud Broward County Social Studies Teacher. This fall I will teach at Coral Springs High School.

I saw that volunteerism is an important characteristic of Coral Springs, which is something that the many residents and I share. My involvement with the MultiCultural Advisory Board, the Customer-Involved Government Committee and the Martin Luther King Jr. Committee have allowed me to witness the dedication and commitment of the residents, to our City. I have also volunteered for the Lynn Johnson Award Nominating Committee, World fest, and the Coral Springs Festival of the Arts. Approachable, honest, caring, and I am willing to work with anyone to solve a problem. My passion is to work in our City’s best interests, work for my neighbors, my fellow residents, and ensure a brighter future for Coral Springs.
